DIRECTOR FCA, BCOM
To be at the forefront of business advisory takes a high level of skill, knowledge and experience across many areas, a natural curiosity and an ability to communicate complex issues in everyday language. As an advisor, that's Matt Bellingham to a T. Matt's career has been stellar from his early days, with the aforementioned qualities driving him to add business advice to his accountancy practice early on.
It's this drive which saw him take the leap from graduate to partner of Hayes Knight and business mentor in a record-breaking five years. After a total of 20 years (fifteen as a partner), the time finally came for Matt to pursue his own aspirations which led him and Aaron Wallace to establish Bellingham Wallace: a brand that reflects their expansive approach and commitment to adding more to the business of accountancy.
Matt enjoys extraordinary commitment and loyalty from his clients, a true sign of how immersed he is in their businesses, and how valuable he has become over the years.
His intuitive ability to sense hidden business opportunity is not only valued by his clients, but also by the commercial and altruistic boards he is committed to.
Matt's intuitive ability to sense hidden business opportunity is not only valued by his clients, but also by the commercial and altruistic boards he is committed to.
Matt is actively involved in contributing to the betterment of both the accounting profession and the business community, including advocating for sensible outcomes for clients. In 2013 Matt was awarded a Fellowship by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) in recognition for the commitment to excellence which he has demonstrated throughout this career.
In addition to his day job, Matt has also been a trustee of North Harbour Stadium and Past President of the North Harbour Club, chaired the North Harbour Business Association from 2003 to 2008 and was the Chairman of Judges for the Westpac Auckland North Business Awards for seven consecutive years. He now chairs the judging panel of the Business Hall of Fame.
Matt is regularly invited to speak at business seminars and authors thought leadership articles for a number of publications, and regularly receives perfect scores on the feedback sheets.
Not surprisingly, Matt commits at his personal life with just as much passion. Matt tries his hand at the rural lifestyle living on a block in Coatesville, Auckland with wife Tarryn and his children Sophie, Eva and Ruby as well as their animals, but he still manages to indulge in his passion of fishing and scuba diving when the family escapes to their bach in Pauanui.
